Deanna McGillivray is a multi-sport athlete – rugby, handball and weight lifting. Deanna played on the UNM Women’s Rugby Team from 2005-2009. In 2009, she was co-captain and placed 3rd for Division 1 Collegiate National Championships. In 2009, Deanna was named Division 1 Collegiate All American for USA Women’s Rugby.

From 2008-2013, she played on the USA Women’s National Rugby 15s Team. In 2010, she was a reserve on the USA Women’s Rugby 15s World Cup roster. Also, that year led the New Mexico Club Rugby Atomic Sisters to second place in the Division 2 Nationals. In 2011 & 2012 was on the USA West All Star Rugby 15s Team. In 2012, played on the USA West All Star Rugby 7s Team and USA Women’s National Rugby 7s Team
In 2014, Deanna was on the USA Olympic Handball Team. She played against Puerto Rico March 2014.

In 2016, she played Profession GRID League as a Strength Specialist for Miami Surge, matches were aired on NBC Sports. In 2017, Deanna became New Mexico State Record Holder for 90kg weight class in Olympic. She placed 9th in the country for the 90kg weight class at Weightlifting Nationals in 2017.
Deanna has been Physical Education Teacher for Albuquerque Public Schools since 2011.
