Jeff Siembieda moved to New Mexico in 1996 he has been reporting on, coaching and promoting New Mexico’s sports and athletic events. He is currently the Executive Director of the New Mexico Bowl and he also co-hosts the Opening Drive each morning on KNML.

He started on KOAT-TV as its Weekend Sports Anchor in 1996 and was later promoted to the channel’s Sports Director. He hosted “The Big Show” on 1310-The Ticket Radio Channel from 2005 to 2007 and currently hosts a morning sports talk radio show on KNML’s, “the Opening Drive” where he just celebrated his 10 year anniversary.
In 2001, Jeff became VP of Media and Entertainment for the New Mexico Scorpions Hockey Team.
In 2005, he was appointed as Deputy Director for the newly created New Mexico Sports Authority where he worked with the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau, the University of New Mexico and ESPN to establish the New Mexico Bowl. He has been the Executive Director of the New Mexico Bowl for ESPN Events since 2006.
In 2016 he was recognized by The Legislature of the State of New Mexico for his efforts to promote New Mexico athletics and the national visibility of New Mexico as a venue for sports.
He was also a basketball coach at Madison middle school in Albuquerque and Summer Coach for New Mexico’s Amateur Athletic Union Boys under fourteen and under fifteen basketball teams from 2001 to 2005. He currently volunteers with his daughters Lacrosse team, the Duke City Bears, by keeping stats, score or or running drills at practice.
He has excelled at play-by-play for New Mexico State and the University of New Mexico, The Coleman Classic and high school football games, most recently he covered for Josh Souchon for Isotopes Baseball.
Jeff has received awards from the New Mexico Sportscasters Association for his work on his radio show and the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association two years in row.
